The Youth Department operates the Hudson Youth Center at 18 S 3rd Street (formerly the Hudson Boys and Girls Club) and a summer day camp at Oakdale Park at 132 North 6th Street.  Both are open to the public and offer free programming and daily meals to Hudson’s youth.  The Department is committed to offering a safe, caring and enriching environment for children and serves hundreds of kids in different ways over the course of a calendar year, many from families that are under resourced and have few alternatives for their children’s after school and summer time activities.

The Hudson Youth Center operates September through June in coordination with the Hudson School District scholastic calendar.  The center is open 3 pm to 6 pm for kids aged five to twelve and from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm for teenagers aged thirteen to eighteen. For six weeks every summer the Department of Youth operates a free summer day camp at Oakdale Park for any resident of Hudson aged five to thirteen, with activities from 9am to 3pm, and daily breakfast and lunch. This 14 acre site includes Oakdale Lake and Beach House, basketball courts, a playground, and nature trails.

Recreation attendants

Recreation Attendants are one of the most important and interactive postions that we have at the Youth Center. This is a direct care position, meaning that Recreation Attendants work directly with the students we serve. They greet the students when they arrive, guide them in all aspects of programming and help with departure and transportation. They help lead our afterschool programming for our 5 to 12 year olds by facilitating homework help, serving meals, playing games, mediating conflict, teaching arts and crafts and more.

Rec Attendants may also work with our teen programmers in the evening, serving dinner, managing activities, supervising the gym and occasionally supervising field trips.  Click Here to Apply to be a Rec Attendant.
